Privacy Policy

These terms are an interim plain-English version written by us while formal terms are prepared. They state how Platypus actually operates today. If anything here is unclear, email signup@platypus.tickets before relying on it.

What we collect

  • Account requests and tenant accounts: the contact details you give us — name, email, venue details — and your acceptance of our terms.
  • Patron data, on behalf of venues: when you buy a ticket, the venue collects your name, email, and optionally phone number through Platypus so your tickets can be delivered and the venue can run its box office. That data belongs to the venue's relationship with you.
  • Mailing-list consents: sign-ups are double-opt-in and every email carries an unsubscribe link.
  • Payments: card details go directly to Stripe — Platypus never sees or stores card numbers.

Why we collect it

To run the ticketing service: delivering tickets, checking them at the door, sending the emails venues ask us to send, and billing venues for the platform. We don't sell data to anyone.

Where it lives

Platypus is hosted in Australia (AWS Sydney region). Email and payment providers we integrate (e.g. Stripe) process data under their own policies.

Your choices

  • Every marketing email has a working unsubscribe link.
  • For access, correction, or deletion of your data, email signup@platypus.tickets. If your data was collected by a venue, we'll coordinate with them.
