Buyer terms

These terms are an interim plain-English version written by us while formal terms are prepared. They state how Platypus actually operates today. If anything here is unclear, email signup@platypus.tickets before relying on it.

Who you're buying from

When you buy a ticket through Platypus, the venue or producer named on the ticket is the seller and the merchant of record — not Platypus. Your payment goes to that venue's own payment account, and your ticket contract is with them. Platypus operates the ticketing software on their behalf.

Refunds and exchanges

Refunds and exchanges follow the venue's stated policy — where the venue has published one, it's linked at checkout and from your receipt. If a venue cancels an event, you're entitled to a remedy under Australian Consumer Law regardless of any stated policy.

If something goes wrong

Contact the venue first — their details are on your receipt and their contact page. If you can't reach the venue or can't resolve it, email signup@platypus.tickets and we'll help route it.

Your rights

Nothing in these terms, or in any venue's policy, limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
