Get ready for an evening of gloriously unhinged Aussie folk, rich harmonies and stories drawn from love, flood, country and community as Bella Frankie bring their new album Other Side Of to the Nimbin Bush Theatre.

Bella Frankie make Australian folk music with dirt under its fingernails and a few surprises up its sleeve. Their original songs weave folk with pop, blues, country and rock, carried by warm three-part harmonies and a love of a good yarn.

The band brings together Michael Turner (Wild Pumpkins at Midnight) on guitar, Ajita Cannings on vocals, autoharp and ukulele, Tash Kraemer (Van Diemen’s Band) on cello, and Steve Gilbert (Shane Howard Band) on harmonica. And yes, the name Bella Frankie comes from two much-loved black dogs, Bella and Frankie.

Other Side Of

Bella Frankie’s third album explores the spaces between worlds and the love that exists throughout them.

Journeying from Irish jigs and country ballads to tin-shed rock, Other Side Of moves through lifetimes of music and storytelling, sometimes tender, sometimes wild, and always unmistakably Australian.

Special Guest: Pam Hata

Opening the evening is Pam Hata, an independent solo acoustic artist from the Mid North Coast and Northern Rivers of NSW.

Drawing inspiration from her Australian stomping grounds and her vibrant Māori culture, Pam brings warmth, energy and a magnetic personality to the stage. Her music is heartfelt and grounded, with a connection to place, culture and people that comes through from the very first strum.
